Weekend Recap: Grill Out In the City

Happy Monday! Today is supposed to be a high of 75! Actually this whole week is supposed to be in the mid 70's! Fabulous! :)

Who had a wonderful weekend? Mine was pretty good. Friday I met up with a co-worker for a drink and tapas at La Tasca in Arlington Heights. Saturday morning I went to the Farmer's Market and then spent most of the day wrapped up in "Fifty Shades of Grey." I became so wrapped up in the characters and their cute sarcastic emails they send back and forth to each other. I don't think I could have walked away from the first book if I actually had plans that afternoon! Saturday I drove into the city. Thankfully it was on the out skirts of Chicago and I found street parking with ease. I went to a friend's grill out bday bash. We played battle shots, ate too much potato salad and laughed around a small fire pit! Have you seen battle shots on Pinterest yet? We all remember the childhood game Battle Ships. Well this is the new grown-up game with shot glasses! Here is an image so you can get an idea of how the game is played:

I didn't get a photo of the game. Here is an image that closely matches Rena and Ben's talent at making the boats:

Sunday I worked at Fieldwork and then did laundry. I also started reading book two of Fifty Shades!

  1. Glad you like the boats!

The boats in the bottom picture are made by Wilson's Products & Services, located near Dallas, TX.

ShipSHOTS, as this version of drinking battleship is called, is an awesome way to play because there is NO HIDING of the boats! Everyone in the room gets to watch and be involved in the action. If you want to learn more, give us a shout!
